“Azalea” and “Caerulea” aims to evoke a sense of tranquillity and quietness in response to viewing these portraits. Using coloured pencils as my media allows me to seamlessly blend a variety of colours without losing detail. Incorporating delicate floral designs connects back to my childhood memories of playing in my grandmother’s garden. Although, the garden is long gone, reminiscing to that place allowed me to escape into an ethereal world filled with flowerbeds of purity, beauty and elegance. Creating this body of work is a way for me to not only recollect to those times but also share this experience with others.
